Kathmandu, Nepal, March 12, 2021: factional war within the ruling CPN (UML), which was revived from the Supreme Court order on Sunday, likely to escalate after party president and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli led faction unilateral takes several decision including the actions against the dissident leaders.
Central committee meeting of the UML held at Prime Minister KP Shama Oli’s official resident at Baluwatar on Friday removed all the leaders aligned in the dissident faction led by Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal from the party’s responsibilities in the party.
Likewise, the meeting has also appointed 33 central committee members including former CPN (Maoist Center) leader and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Badal.
As per the decision, Rajan Bhatrai has been appointed as the head of International department. Earlier, leader Nepal was the head of the department.
Likewise, former Maoist leader and Minister Lekhraj Bhatta has been appointed as the in charge of the Sudurpaschim province. Earlier, Bhim Rawal was the in charge of the province.
Similarly, yemlal Kandel has been appointed as the in-charge of Karnali province. Earlier, Yub Raj Gyanwali was the in-charge of the province.
The meet in also decided to hold the general convention of the party by coming Mangsir.
Earlier, the Nepal-Khanal led fation had concluded to form a parallel committees from the center to ward level if Oli led faction moved ahead with unilateral decision.
