Kathmandu, Nepal, July 20, 2023: A substantial amount of smuggled gold has been seized from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
The Revenue Investigation Department (RID) seized such a large amount of gold on the basis of specific information that the gold was concealed within the brake shoe of a scooter.
It is said that the amount of seized gold is more than 50 kg, which is largest ever amount of gold seized so far. With the seized gold some suspected persons have also been arrested. However, details about the seized gold and arrested persons are yet to be disclosed.
