Kathmandu, Nepal, September 20, 2019: Constitution Day, which is also known as the National Day, is being marked amid grand functions across the country including in Kathmandu on Friday.
A special function was organized at Tudikhel of Kathmandu to observe the Constitution Day. Likewise, various functions were organized in all the districts to mark the Constitution Day.
In the function in Kathmandu, President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime KP Sharma Minister Oli, Speaker of the House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Timalsina, and other dignitaries like office bearers of the constitutional bodies, senior government officials, security chiefs, lawmakers, leaders from various political parties, foreign diplomats and others were present in the function.
To make the function special, Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force march-past. Likewise, various cultural processions of various ethnic communities were also held. People from different walks of life were also present with banner reading ‘Constitution Day-2076’ to make the Constitution Day a special.
Nepal marks the fourth anniversary of the promulgation of the new constitution through the historic Constituent Assembly (CA) in September 20, 2015.
Various head of the state and government of different countries including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, President of the United States of America H.E. Mr. Donald J. Trump, President of India H.E. Mr. Ram Nath Kovind and President of the French Republic H.E. Emmanuel Macron have extended warm greetings on the Occasion of the Constitution Day of Nepal.
