Kathmandu, Nepal, August 30, 2023: Rahul Mahara, son of CPN Maoist Center leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara has been arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police in connection with a gold smuggling case on Wednesday.
CPN Maoist Center’s voice president Krishna Bahadur Mahara and his son Rahul have been accused of being involved in the case of smuggling 9 kg of gold hidden in electronic cigarettes.
CIB investigation had revealed that Krishna Bahadur Mahara and his son Rahul Mahara had contacts with the person who smuggled 9 kg of gold by hiding it inside e-cigarettes.
