Kathmandu, Nepal, November 8, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally has advanced to 194,453 after 2,817 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours. Of the newly infected cases, 1,166 are females while 1,651 are males.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), among the newly recorded cases, 1,533 were in Kathmandu Valley alone. It is said that of the newly recorded cases, 1,294 were from Kathmandu district while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 162 and 77 cases respectively in the past 24 hours.
Likewise, 2,812 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the new addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 157,926.
There are 35,419 active cases of coronavirus in the country. Among them, 1,149 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across country, the MoHP has said during the virtual press briefing on Sunday.
Similarly, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has advanced to 1,108 after 21 more fatalities related to the virus recorded in the past 24 hours.
The MoHP has also stated that 2,817 new cases were confirmed while conducting 12,241 PCR tests at different labs across the nation in the last 24 hours. So far, the country conducted 1,540,007 PCR tests.
