Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday said that, there will be no compromise on corruption in Assam in keeping with Narendra Modi led union government's fight against corruption, black money. 
 
 While addressing a press conference held at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati, Sonowal said that, the state government will not compromise on corruption and no one will be spared if he or she found involvement in corruption, taking black money. 
 
"Our stand is clear against corruption, black money. No impunity for anyone found involvement in corruption, taking bribes. Forget others, if the CM found involvement in corruption, then he wouldn't be able to escape action," Sonowal said. 
 
Refuting amid allegations that, investigation process of high profile corruption cases have been slackened, Sonowal said that, the investigation process of every corruption case is going on and directed the officials of the anti-corruption wings of the state like CM vigilance, CID, Vigilance and Anti-corruption, BIEO to probe every case by free and fair. 
 
"When our government took charge in 2016, the first cabinet had decided to demolish all check gates in the state aiming to fight against corruption. We are trying to give the people of Assam a corruption free government," Sonowal said. 
 
On the other hand, accusing the Congress for patronising corruption in Assam and other parts of the country, Sonowal said that, the Congress led UPA government had to totally failed to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe against black money despite of the Supreme Court direction. 
 
"But Modi government had formed the SIT under two retired judges in their first government," the Assam CM said. 
 
Sonowal said that, Assam will also celebrate Anti-black money day on November 8 next. 
 
"Assam will celebrate anti-black money day on November 6-9 across the state by holding discussion forum, rally, campaign, press meet etc.," Sonowal said.
