KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has directed the Ministry of Education to stop the auction of the land belonging to the Sajha Prakashan in Pulchok, on Monday.

PM Dahal issued the directive during a meeting with the Minister for Education Dhaniram Paudel and other stakeholders at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers in Singhadurbar today.

The government cooperative publication was planning the auction after it failed to pay back the loan of Rs 75 million to a bank.

PM Dahal, however, assured the publication to provide Rs 400 million immediately including Rs 200 million loan and other Rs 200 million grant, to clear their debt to the bank and others.

“The decision would be finalised after a Cabinet meeting following the completion of necessary procedures, within a week,” Dahal reaffirmed, adding, “The historic organisation should not be shut down.”
Minister Paudel said necessary documents have been sent to the Ministry of Finance according to the PM’s instruction.

Sajha Prakashan Chairman and General Manager Dolindra Prasad Sharma, meanwhile, stated that PM’s words have given them hope.RSS
