Guwahati: One hardcore ULFA (I) militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Upper Assam's Tinsukia district on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place at Dirak Rangpuriya village near Kakopathar in the oil and tea riched upper Assam district.
Following intelligence inputs, army personnel had launched operation at the remote village about presence of ULFA (I) militant hiding at the area.
The army personnel retaliated after the militant fired upon them who hiding at a house oowned by Ajit Baruah.
Security personnel had recovered two pistols, ammunition in possession from the slain militant who is yet to be identified.
