Kathmandu, Nepal: The Supreme Court (SC) the apex court of the country has on Friday issued an interim order in the name of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to stop its action against seven doctors affiliated with the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH).
Responding to the writ filed at the Supreme Court on Thursday, a single bench of Justice Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai issued the verdict stating that the CIAA had initiated action against the seven doctors going beyond its jurisdiction.
The CIAA had sought clarification from Dean Prof. Dr Bimal Kumar Sinha, Assistant Dean Dr Sharad Onta, Prof Dr Jagadish Prasad Agrawal, Dr Dinesh Binod Pokharel, Dr Madhu Devkota, Dr Krishna KC and Vice-Principal Raj Devi Adhikari. All of them had moved to the Supreme seeking intervention.
