Kathmandu, Nepal – Subash Lamichhane has emerged as a prominent candidate for the presidency of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Japan for the 2025–2027 term. His campaign, rooted in institutional reform, transparency, and inclusivity, presents a youth-driven and socially focused alternative to rival candidate Siddhartha Shrestha.

Originally from Kushma, Parbat, Lamichhane migrated to Japan in 2007. He pursued undergraduate studies in management, followed by professional training in hotel management. Since 2011, he has successfully operated a restaurant business in Japan, establishing himself as a respected member of the Nepali diaspora.

Lamichhane has held several leadership roles within the Nepali community in Japan. He served as the spokesperson for NRNA Japan from 2021 to 2023 and was unanimously elected President of the Parbat Japan Society. Currently, he serves as Vice President of NRNA Japan for the 2023–2025 term.

In his tenure as Vice President, Lamichhane has been instrumental in delivering impactful community services. He played a leading role in organizing 13 mobile service units across Japan, benefiting over 7,000 Nepali residents with essential health and social services. He also facilitated the transfer of ¥2.3 million (Japanese Yen) to support students in Nepal affected by the earthquake, demonstrating his commitment to transnational solidarity.

Lamichhane has also contributed significantly to community engagement through the successful coordination of two major Nepal Festivals in Japan. As the NRNA Japan General Convention approaches on July 20, he has formally launched his presidential campaign under the slogan: “Dedicated, Accountable, and Purpose-Driven Leadership.”

As part of his broader commitment to community development, Lamichhane has mobilized volunteers to support Nepali students learning Japanese and initiated partnerships with local Japanese schools to promote educational cooperation.

“We don’t need political leadership; we need social leadership. My commitment is to revive NRNA Japan through youth empowerment, inclusive thinking, and a transparent working culture,” Lamichhane stated.

With a proven track record in social service, organizational leadership, and diaspora engagement, Subash Lamichhane is widely regarded as a strong and credible contender for the NRNA Japan presidency.
