Kathmandu, Nepal, May 3, 2022: The Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has arrived in Kathmandu on Monday on a five-day ‘private’ visit.
Gandhi landed at Tribhuwan International Airport at around 4:40 pm. He was accompanied by three other friends and two security personnel. They have been staying at Naxal based Marriott Hotel.
Gandhi, who is also the former president of the Indian National Congress, has arrived here in Kathmandu to attend the wedding ceremony of his Nepali friend. It is said that Gandhi was invited to attend marriage ceremony of Sumnima Udas, who was a CNN correspondent.
None of the sides have confirmed yet that whether Gandhi will engage on meeting of Nepalese leaders during his stay in Kathmandu.
Gandhi had visited Kathmandu in August 2018 during the course of his visit to Kailash Mansarovar.
