Kathmandu, Nepal, May 13, 2021: K P Sharma Oli has been re-appointed as the Prime Minister. The President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Oli as prime minister on the basis of parliamentary party leader of the largest party representing in the parliament.
Oli was re-appointed as new prime minister after the 9:00 pm deadline set earlier to claim the majority government under the constitutional provision 76 (2) ended.
Article 76(3) of the constitution has made a provision that president shall appoint the parliamentary party leader of the largest party represent in the parliament as new Prime minister if the government was not formed under the Article 76(2) of the constitution.
It is said that newly appointed prime minister Oli will be conferred oath of office and secrecy at 2:00 pm on Friday.
