Butwal, Nepal: Wanted gangster Manoj Pun has been shot dead in an encounter with the Nepal police in Devdaha of Rupandehi district on Wednesday morning.
According to a source of the Nepal police, Pun was shot at after he and his aide Som Bahadur Ale opened fired at Police team even trying to escape the scene, where police team had reached to arrest the criminals.
It is said that Pun and his aid Ale succumbed to their injuries at Lumbini Zonal Hospital while receiving treatment.
Pun is the main accused in the murder case of Durga Tiwari. Youth force leader Tiwari was shot dead in Rupandehi district by a gang led by Pun.
Police had also been searching Pun suspecting that he and his team would have involved in the murder case of construction businessman Sharad Gauchan.
