Kathmandu, Nepal:  Death toll of the Jajarkot bus accident has reached 26. Though the identities of the deceased are yet to be established, the security forces involved in the rescue operation have confirmed that 40 people have lost their lives in the accident.  
 
It is said that 41 persons were injured in the incident. Among the injured, one dozen persons have reported as critical in condition. The injured persons are admitted at the District Hospital in Jajarkot for treatment.
 
The ill-fated bus with registration number Na 3 Kha 2279 that was heading towards Khara from Khalanga met with the accident when it plunged off the road at Dhangaredanda in Bohara Gaum along the Chinchu-Jajarkot road section on Thursday afternoon.
