Kathmandu, Nepal: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), an ally of the agitating Madhes based parties, has warned that it would protest the local level elections if it was declared before amendment of the constitution.
A meeting of the UDMF has reached on the conclusion that it would not accept the local poll date announcement before endorsement of the proposed Constitution amendment bill.
The UDMF has made the decision in the mean time when the major three parties have agreed to hold the local level elections.
A meeting of the major three had also decided to announce the date for the local level elections within a week.
In a press conference organized on Friday to reveal about the decision of the meeting the UDMF leaders had also informed that mass demonstrations will be organized in major cities of the nation on Monday in order to protest attempts to announce local poll dates before the Constitution amendment.
During the meeting, the UDMF leaders had criticized the main opposition party CPN-UML for continuously obstructing the Parliament meeting.
