Butwal, Nepal, June 5, 2022: At least nine people have been killed and about two down others injured when a passenger bus met with an accident in Rupandehi district on Sunday morning.
Police have confirmed that a woman and eight men killed in the accident. Four were killed on the spot while remaining four others killed while receiving treatment at Bhairahawa based hospitals. However, the details of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.
It said that the accident occurred when the ill-fated passenger bus fell off a bridge over the Rohini River on the Bhairahawa-Parasi road section at Basantapur of Omsatiya Rural Municipality-4 at around 4:30 in the morning.
The bus with registration number Lu 2 Kha 3841 was coming from Janakpur to Bhairahawa boarding 33 passengers. The reason behind the fatal accident is also not ascertained yet. Of the injured passengers, 16 were critical in condition.
