Kathmandu, Nepal: The Nepali Congress, the oldest democratic party of the country and the largest party in the parliament, has scheduled to discuss on its Central Committee meeting about the proposal of referendum on Hindu state.
As a proposal of referendum on Hindu state has been registered in the central committee meeting by the central member of the party Khum Bahadur Khadka on Sunday, the Nepali Congress has to take decision about the issue from the ongoing central committee meeting.
Expressing serious dissatisfaction over the decision taken by the party to declare the country as secular state without any discussion in the party, he had demanded to register the proposal for the discussion.
Khadka has been lobbying for the declaration of Nepal as the Hindu state since long. As most of the leaders of the party including party’s general secretary have also been backing on the proposal, it is guessed that the Nepali Congress would compel to adopt the proposal of referendum on Hindu state.
