Kathmandu, Nepal: Deliberations over the impeachment motion registered against the chief commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Lok Man Singh Karki has began in the legislative parliament from Tuesday.
Lawmaker Mohan Bahadur Shahi of CPN Maoist Centre presented the impeachment motion at the House, while CPN-UML chief whip Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal seconded to the motion.
Various lawmakers have taken part in the impeachment motion. While taking part in the deliberations, minister for Health and Nepali Congress lawmaker urged all the lawmakers to stand united for the impeachment motion again suspended CIAA chief Lokman Singh Karki.
‘The impeachment motion should be made an agenda of the parliament,’ Thapa said urging all the lawmakers to remain united until the constitution is implemented.
Another lawmaker and CPN UML central committee member Ravindra Adhikari also underlined the need of impeachment not only check the monopoly of suspendered CIAA chief Karki but also to make Nepal corruption free.
Altogether 157 lawmakers - 107 from the CPN-UML and 50 from the CPN Maoist Center had registered the impeachment motion against karki at the Parliament Secretariat last Wednesday.
