Kathmandu, Nepal, March 11, 2020: A powerful bomb went off at the house of erstwhile information and communication minister Gokul Prasad Baskota at Manaharaphant of Bhaktapur at 7:45 am on Wednesday morning.

According to the locals the bomb exploded at the compound of Baskota’s house. With the explosion, the wall of the house is partially damaged while some houses of neighboring residents were also damaged.  A Maruti van parked in the nearby road was also damaged in the explosion.   However no any human causality was made in the explosion.

Former Minister Banskota and his family members were not there at the house at the time of explosion. Baskota has been residing at the house of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at Balkot of Bhaktapur.

Baskota had resigned from the post after an audiotape of bargaining for commission was made public.

Though the police have said that they have been investigating over the explosion, it is suspected that Netra Bikram Chnada led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) would have involved in the explosion.
