Kathmandu, Nepal: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has claimed that the three-tier of elections would be held by January 2018.

Addressing a program organized by the Nepal Students Union in Kathmandu on Monday, Deuba said the main opposition party CPN UML has also agreed to hold the elections.

During my meeting with CPN UML chair KP Sharma Oli, discussions were held about to hold the elections on time and I found that Oli was positive to hold the elections, Deuba said.

As elections were essential not only to end the transition but also to forward the political course ahead and speed up the economic progress, he said.

Elections date would be fixed soon by preparing the calendar for the purpose, he said without revealing the tentative deadline.
