Kathmandu, Nepal, February 14, 2024: The death toll of Palpa Jeep accident has reached 10.
The ill-fated jeep with register number Lu 1 Ja 2371 that was heading to Chidish from Dumre met with the fatal accident at Masyam of Palpa at 4:50 PM on Tuesday.
According to the police reports, the deceased have been identified as Geeta Sunar, 20, Bishnukala Kami, 66, Yan Kumari Pant, 60, Urmila Aslami, 28, Ram Bahadur Aslami, 39, Krishna Bahadur Aslami, 67, Dil Kumari Sunar, 65, Chandragopal Ranpal, 70 and Chuna Ranpal, 60.
The accident occurred after the jeep went out of control and plunged about 300 meters off the road. Police have arrested the jeep driver, Dan Bahadur Chidi, 45, a resident of Tansen Municipality-10 in Palpa.
