Kathmandu, Nepal: Chief of Indian Army Staff (COAS), Bipin Rawat has arrived in Kathmandu for an official visit to Nepal on Tuesday morning.
 
When Indian Army Chief Rawat landed in Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) by a special flight of Indian Army, his Nepali counterpart Chief of Army Staff, Rajendra Chhetri, had reached there to welcome him. 
 
Indian Army Chief Rawat arrived in Nepal to receive the honorary General title of Nepal Army.  President Bidya Bhandari is going to confer the title on Gen Rawat amidst a ceremony at Sheetal Niwas on Wednesday.
 
There has been a long-standing tradition between the two neighboring countries- Nepal and India to confer the decoration of the honorary General title for both the chief of Army Chiefs. 
 
During his stay in Kathmandu, Indian Army Chief Rawat will pay courtesy call to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Defense Minister Balkrishna Khand and COAS Rajendra Chhetri.
