Pokhara, Nepal: Leader Ramji Kunwar has been picked as the candidate of the Nepali Congress for mayor post in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City. Likewise, Saraswati Gurung has been selected as the candidate of deputy-mayor.
 
 A meeting of party's top leaders held at the party central office in Sanepa decided to field Kunwar and Gurung as the candidate for mayor and deputy mayor in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan city respectively. 
 
Kunwar, former central committee member of the Nepali Congress, is regarded as the popular leader in the party. He has long been involving in the trade Union movement in Nepal. He is now senior vice president of the Nepal Trade Union Congress. 
 
Similarly, deputy mayor candidate Gurung is also regarded as a popular leader in the region.
