Kathmandu, Nepal: The Nepali Congress (NC), a coalition partner of the incumbent government, has on Tuesday handed over the name list of 10 leaders of the party for their appointment as State Ministers in the government.
Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi handed over the name list to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday. Earlier, Nepali Congress President President Sher Bahadur Deuba had submitted the name list to the DPM Nidhi.
It is said that new state ministers from the Nepali Congress and the CPN Maoist Center will also be included in the government on Wednesday.
According to the Nepali Congress, the recommendation is made to appoint Deepak Khadka as the State Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Kanchan Chandra Bade as the State Minister for Industry, Surendra Acharya as the State Minister for Irrigation and Mithu Malla as the State Minister for Commerce.
Similarly, Dilip Gachhadar has been recommended for the post of State Minister for Labor, Sitaram Mehta for the State Minister for Forest, Dirgha Raj Bhat for the State Minister for Physical Infrastructure, Subarna Jwarachan for the State Minister for Urban Development, Taraman Gurung for the State Minister for Health and Indra Baniya for the State Minister for Tourism.
The recommendation was made on the basis of consensus among the senior leaders of the party. The names recommended from the senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, Khum Bahadur Khadka and Krsihna Sitaula are included in the list, claims a source close to the Nepali Congress.
