Kathmandu, Nepal, August 23, 2023: The hearing of the writ petition filed in the Supreme Court on Wednesday by Hikmat Kumar Karki, leader of the Koshi Pradesh Assembly, Parliamentary Party of the CPN-UML, demanding an interim order to dismiss the government led by Koshi Pradesh Chief Minister Uddhav Thapa will be heard on Thursday.

CPN-UML Koshi Provincial Assembly Parliamentary Party leader Karki filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on Wednesday stating that the vote of confidence taken by Chief Minister Thapa by making Speaker Israel Mansuri vote is against the constitution and the order of the Supreme Court.

In the writ petition, he has claimed that he received the vote of confidence unconstitutionally and has also demanded a permission to appoint himself as the chief minister as a major party, canceling the vote of confidence of Chief Minister Thapa.
