?The month of Poush 2082 alone saw NPR 192.62 billion in remittances, up sharply from NPR 122.44 billion in the same month last year. In US dollar terms, total remittances reached USD 750 million—a 32.3% increase over last year’s 2.7% growth.
?Net transfers, including both private and institutional channels, also rose significantly, totaling NPR 1,168.02 billion, compared to NPR 833.86 billion during the same period last year.
?Meanwhile, the number of Nepali citizens obtaining labor approvals for overseas employment has increased. During the six-month period, 206,807 new approvals and 194,733 renewals were issued, compared to 230,439 and 162,628, respectively, in the previous year.
?Experts attribute the record growth to the rising participation of Nepali workers abroad and the convenience of digital transfer technologies. This steady inflow of funds is helping families across Nepal meet daily expenses, invest in education, and support local communities.
